Everyone appears to be waiting for something before they can decided where the market and the economy are headed. Ms. Yellen is waiting for inflation, Mr. Draghi is waiting for economic growth, some investors are waiting for earnings, others are waiting for a correction, and some just can’t believe growth can continue because, well, it has been going on for so long. Everyone is waiting for something else to occur. We have been concentrating on fair valuations and the changes within valuations for markets, sectors, industry groups and individual stocks. The message continues to indicate slow and steady growth with hesitations when the market gets ahead of itself.

Update Economic USA Employment
Employment jobless claims for 1st time requests is continue to fall. Recent jobless claims were down another 15,000 for the week. The rate is now at 233,000 which is well below the 300,000 unofficial benchmark. This is also a record low since 1973. Additionally, the 4-week average remained nearly flat at 243,750 just 750 higher than the previous week. Continuing claims remained below $2 million for 9 straight weeks now at 1.977 million.

International sales activity has been a major economic and political topic since the beginning of this country’s discovery when explorers risked life-and-limb to sail across a vast body of water that might have been a one-way trip. Today, the center of global commerce is still focused on the “New World”, but is more directed toward how much of a company’s sales activity is attributed to international markets. The answer to that important question is almost 50%.
